Mr. Channa Pathirana was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer in November of 2019. Mr. Pathirana has been with Abans for over 18 years and prior to this current appointment, served as the Deputy Director – Retail, overlooking the entire Retail channel. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Kandy and soon after, started his illustrious career in sales, spanning across 30 years. At Abans PLC, he led the establishment of the higher purchase sales model that lent the way to unlocking market growth in Sri Lanka, and enabled the retail channel to expand throughout the
island. Furthermore, Mr. Pathirana set up the Hero motorcycle business under Abans Auto and was instrumental in developing the micro-financing arm of Abans Finance.
